WSALPHO is a partner with the Department of Health, the State Board of Health, and the University of Washington in the development and implementation of the Public Health Improvement Partnership (PHIP). The method used to move the Public Health System forward under the PHIP is through the work of several committees. In addition to the Public Health Finance Committee and the Communications/Marketing Committee (both of which originated with WSALPHO) which are separately detailed in WSALPHO work plans, the following Committees will be working through the next year to accomplish the goals articulated in the PHIP:
  • Key Health Indicators: Co-Chairs: Ward Hinds, WSALPHO and Jude Van Buren, DOH

  • Standards for Public Health:  Co-Chairs: Torney Smith, WSALPHO and Bill White, DOH

  • Information Technology: Co-Chairs: Ed Dzedzy , WSALPHO and Frank Westrom, DOH

  • Workforce Development: Co-Chairs: Jack Thompson, UW and Sue Grinnell, WSALPHO

  • Access: Co-Chairs: Tom Locke, SBOH and Greg Vigdor, WA Health Foundation

The work plan for these committees are included on this website.
