The Washington Counties Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce the 2010/11 Scholarship Winners...

 

Stacey Brinkerhoff, Kitsap County

Parents:  Vickie Fick, who is employed in the Kitsap County Treasurer’s Office.

 

Stacey will be a senior at the University of Washington where she is taking the prerequisites for veterinary studies.    It is her goal to “be a harbor and a haven to animals.”  Stacey wants to open her own clinic that specializes in saving and rescuing abused and mistreated animals. 

 

Olivia Annette Creasey, Clallam County

Parents: Stanton & Carol Creasey – Stanton is employed in the Clallam County Auditor’s Office and Carol is employed in County Community Development.

 

Olivia will be a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh where she is studying bioengineering and Spanish.  She says, “The process and promise of tissue engineering fascinates me.”  According to her dad, Olivia will be working in the stem cell laboratory at the University this summer.

 

Allison LeeAnn Davis, Pacific County

Parents: Ronald & Tina Davis - Ronald is a Pacific County Deputy Sheriff.

 

Allison is a senior at Raymond High School and plans to attend the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute.    She hopes to combine her passion for cooking with her desire to travel the world so she wants to find employment as a chef on a cruise ship.  Allison’s teachers describe her as quiet and dedicated with a great sense of humor and the ability to effectively manage a job, academic studies and community involvement.

 

Macauley Tyler Fox, Kitsap County

Parents:  Any Mahan-Fox, who is employed in the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

Following his graduation from South Kitsap High School, Macauley is headed to the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle to pursue a career in theater.  The role of Henry V in a South Kitsap production “truly unlocked the passion” in him.   In his words, “Up until my junior year, the theatre was a place for social rejects and acting was a profession for those who enjoyed unemployment.”   An Acting Techniques class sold him on his career path.

 

Rachel Wilbur, San Juan County

Parents:  Shannon & Steven Wilbur - Shannon is employed in the San Juan County Public Works Department.

 

Rachel is currently a sophomore at the University of Washington with duel undergraduate majors of Medical Anthropology and Global Heath and Public Health.  She is especially interested in ways in which diseases spread and affect societies.  In her freshman year she was awarded the University’s Weinker Award in Biocultural Anthropology for a research project on human-nonhuman primate disease transmission:  Tuberculosis.   This summer she will attend a UW field school in Indonesia.

Erin Nicole Whitbread, Stevens County

Parents:  James & Jill Whitbread – James is the Stevens County Public Works Director. 

 

Erin is graduating from Colville High School and planning on attending Washington State University to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.  Later she plans to focus on geriatric care.
